My Role

As a UI/UX Designer, I was responsible for designing the web page and admin panel to ensure an engaging user experience and ease for the marketing team in managing promotional events.

Challenges

  1. Lack of User Motivation – Potential service providers were reluctant to register due to insufficient incentives.

  2. Unengaging Service Posting Process – Users found the service listing process dull and tedious.

  3. Marketing Team Needs – The marketing team required a flexible system to create and manage promotional events.

Process

1. User Analysis

  • Interviews with potential service providers to understand why they were reluctant to register.

    • Findings: Most cited a lack of incentives and unclear benefits of joining.

  • Survey of new users after registration to identify obstacles in posting services.

    • Findings: Many found the interface unintuitive and the service posting process too lengthy.

2. Benchmarking & Best Practices

  • Analyzed other platforms that use gamification for onboarding, such as Fiverr and Upwork.

  • Studied the effectiveness of reward systems in increasing user engagement.

3. Data Analytics & Insights

  • Reviewed registration data and service postings before gamification was implemented.

  • Analyzed user engagement patterns to understand when and how they are active on the platform.

3. Admin Panel for Marketing Team

  • A Master Event system was developed, allowing the marketing team to easily create, edit, and manage promotional events.

  • Admins could set active periods, quotas, rewards, and mission requirements.

  • Real-time statistics to monitor event effectiveness.

Solutions

1. Gamified Missions

  • A mission reward feature was introduced, where users who complete missions receive Onanmedia balance.

  • Missions included:

    • Registering as a service provider

    • Posting at least 2 services

  • The mission visuals were made more engaging with interactive mission cards.

2. Mission Dashboard for Users

  • Users could track their mission progress in real-time.

  • Clear visual indicators (progress bars, mission status) to boost motivation.

  • Notifications when missions were successfully completed.

Results

Onanmedia successfully acquired 1,000 service providers and 2,000 service postings within three months. The implementation of gamification significantly improved service provider onboarding and increased platform engagement.

Conclusion

Gamification proved to be an effective strategy in boosting user acquisition and engagement. An interactive UI/UX design and a flexible system helped both users and the marketing team achieve Onanmedia's business goals.
